| For your convenience, our lectures are available as either individually downloadable files or as sets consisting of entire lecture series on either CD-ROM or cassette tape. The downloadable files are provided as ZIP archives, each of which contains an MP3 audio file and an accompanying lecture note file in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. Please note that all of our lectures were recently resampled and the files are now approximately half the size with no loss in quality! However, due to the length of each lecture - generally between 70 and 90 minutes long - our ZIP archives average 20 Mb each. Downloading of lectures is therefore recommended primarily for broadband users (e.g., DSL or cable).
The lecture notes are an invaluable resource, and you can either print or view them on your computer as you listen to the lecture or afterwards, as a review. These professionally formatted PDF files consist of from 2-30 pages of source material - both in the original Hebrew or Aramaic and translated into English - so the listener can see exactly from where the material in the lecture came.
Most history lectures are approximately 90 minutes in length and typically have 15-30 pages of source material; lectures on Jewish thought are about 70 minutes in length with 2-10 pages of material.
Lecture series sets are available on either CD-ROM or cassette tape. Lectures on CD-ROM are in MP3 format and can almost always be listened to on a personal computer. If you intend to listen to the lectures in your car or on a home stereo, please ensure that your CD player supports the MP3 format. You may, of course, transfer the MP3 lectures to an Ipod or other MP3 player. CD-ROM sets also include a separate CD with all lecture notes for that series in PDF format.
Also available at a slightly higher charge are CD and cassette lecture series set with printed lecture notes.
